What Is Mixed Xylene?

Mixed xylene has CAS number 1330-20-7. It is a clear, flammable aromatic hydrocarbon with strong solvency for resins, oils, and rubbers, and a boiling range around 137–143°C. Its slower evaporation versus toluene is the main reason formulators choose it for film quality.

Industrial Applications

Paints and coatings: A tail solvent that improves flow, levelling, and gloss.

Mixed Xylene vs Toluene
