A tighter 95% minimum through 200 mesh is therefore not a standard published guarantee and must be confirmed in writing by the producing mill, on the Certificate of Analysis, before order.
What is the viscosity specification for xanthan gum?
We supply against a viscosity of 1200–1700 cps measured as a 1% solution in 1% KCl. That is the range published for the FUFENG® E415 200MESH grade; the Deosen Ziboxan® F200 grade publishes 1200–1600 cP on the same basis. The medium and method matter: a viscosity quoted in 1% KCl is not comparable with one measured in deionised water, so state both on the enquiry and on the COA. pH of the same 1% solution runs 6.0–8.0.
Is xanthan gum a hazardous chemical or a dangerous good?
No. Xanthan gum is not classified as hazardous under GHS and is not regulated for transport under ADR, IMDG or IATA — there is no UN number, class, packing group or marine pollutant marking, and it moves as general cargo. The one real physical caution is combustible dust (dust explosion class St1): avoid raising dust clouds, control ignition sources, and earth handling equipment. Spilled powder is extremely slippery when wet.
