Hydrogen Peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide (chemical formula H2O2) is a clear, colourless oxidising liquid, miscible with water in all proportions. Buyers use it for textile and paper bleaching, water and effluent treatment, disinfection, chemical oxidation, and electronics cleaning. We stock it in 35% and 50% w/w grades at our Redhills warehouse in Chennai and dispatch across South India.

The difference is concentration by weight, and it changes the physical properties. The 35% w/w grade has a density of 1.13 g/cm³ at 20°C, a boiling point of 108°C and a pH of 3.5–4.5. The 50% w/w grade has a density of 1.196 g/cm³ at 20°C. We stock both.

We list four grades: Technical (35%), Technical (50%), Electronic grade and Pharma grade. Our stabilised 50% w/w grade is supplied to IS 2080:2021, with figures drawn from the manufacturer's Certificate of Analysis: concentration 50 min % w/w, specific gravity 1.1913 min at 25°C, and rate of decomposition (96°C, 16 h) 5.0 max % w/w. Appearance is a clear, colourless liquid, free from suspended impurities.

Store hydrogen peroxide in a cool, dark area in HDPE or PVDF containers, away from combustibles, reducing agents, heat, organics and metals. Do not seal the containers — they must be able to vent gas. It moves under UN 2014, Class 5.1 (oxidising liquid) and Class 8 (corrosive), Packing Group II, and is handled with eye and skin protection. Shelf life is 6–12 months from manufacture.
