Sodium Sulphate

Sodium sulphate has CAS number 7757-82-6 and the chemical formula Na2SO4. It is also spelled "sodium sulfate" in US usage — the same product. The HSN code is 2833 11 00.

Buyers use it as a filler and processing salt in detergent and washing powder formulation, in textile dyeing and processing baths, in glass manufacturing, in pulp and paper processing, and for dye and pigment standardisation. It is also used across general chemical processing and laboratory work.

We supply the anhydrous grade — Sodium Sulphate (Anhydrous), Na2SO4, the form traded as salt cake. Glauber's salt is the decahydrate, Na2SO4·10H2O: the same salt carrying water of crystallisation, so it is a different physical form and a different dosing basis. They are two different salts and are routinely confused on enquiries. Sodium sulphate is Na2SO4, CAS 7757-82-6; sodium sulphite is Na2SO3, CAS 7757-83-7. We stock both, so tell us the CAS number or the end use and we will confirm the right material before quoting.
